Owner: Michael Bruno served in the Marines for twenty years with specialties of Infantry, Manpower Management and Foreign Area Officer. Michael became interested in baking at an early age and began to consider his hobby as a possible career choice in 2003. He attended the Pastry Arts Program at the L’academie de Cuisine in Washington D.C. and after retiring, moved back to his home in Ohio to open The Blue Door Cafe in 2009. Michael is fluent in German and holds a Master of Science in Management from The Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. He enjoys cars, exercise, and baking.
Manager: David Drumm joined The Blue Door in 2016 after running and managing The Rail in Akron for six years. David has spent his entire life working in restaurants. Most notably, David managed Granite City properties, in Medina, Ray’s on the River in Atlanta Georgia and Spunkmeyers Pub in Wadsworth. David is married to Wendi Drumm and enjoys good food, Cleveland sports, movies and theater.
